Established 1978
The Tata Department of Food Technology has trained women food technologists since 1978 and is a training partner of FICSI with NSQF-level dual certification.
B.Voc. in Food Processing Technology was launched in 2018–19 under SNDT's Centre for Vocational & Technical Education (CVTE, established 2017).
Beyond the classroom, the department runs Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, Vocational Training Programmes, PMKVY and MCED skill courses for dropouts and aspiring entrepreneurs, the “Eat Right” nutrition awareness campaign, and outreach workshops for students with learning disabilities and for transgender communities.
